History
The idea of the Council originated with the Olympia Camera Club in 1940 as an outgrowth of its annual regional exhibit, The Olympia Salon of Photography. Advice and assistance was given by Lt. Ernest Featherstone, who had been active in the formation of the Southern California Council of Camera Clubs. Lt. Featherstone provided a copy of the Bylaws of the SCCCC for reference.
As a member of the Northwest Council of Camera Clubs (NWCCC), the Olympia Camera Club participates in the exchange of photos with other camera clubs in the Pacific Northwest.
